Philippine Consulate General holds successful outreach to Edmonton, Alberta August 2026.

25 August 2026 – The Philippine Consulate General in Calgary (Calgary PCG) held a successful and jam-packed outreach mission to Edmonton, Alberta from 21 to 23 August 2026.

During the outreach mission, the Philippine Consulate General was able to process 524 unique consular services (passport, civil registry, notarials), and administered the oath of Philippine citizenship to 142 Filipinos. The Migrant Workers Office – Vancouver, led by Labor Attache Maya Valderrama, provided 45 individual services during the entire length of the mission in Edmonton. MWO Vancouver also conducted two certification sessions during the mission on Food and Safety and First Aid, in conjunction with the Catholic Social Service, a non-profit organization in Edmonton, and which was facilitated by the Alberta Health Services and the Canadian Red Cross respectively. Post also conducted a mobile overseas voter registration drive, which netted 196 new / reactivated registrants.

Representatives from four (4) non-profit organizations, based in Edmonton, the Catholic Social Service, Multicultural Health Brokers Cooperative, Alzheimer Society, and the Filipino Canadian Saranay Association of Alberta also took part in the first and second days of the consular outreach and shared information on their various services to our consular clients Post’s Volunteer lawyers were also on hand and provided free legal consultations.

The mission was also highlighted by a Town Hall conducted by Consul General Emma R. Sarne and Labor Attache Maya Valderrama on updates on the various services of the Philippine Consulate General and the Migrant Workers Office in Vancouver. The Town Hall was also an opportunity for the Consulate to inform them of the upcoming Winter Escapade / Very Important Pinoy Tour happening in February 2027.

The mission was well received by the Filipino Community in Edmonton, with clients coming as far away as Grande Prairie and other points in northern Alberta, wherein they praised the efficiency, professionalism and timeliness of the services provided by the Consulate’s team – END.
