26 July 2026 – In celebration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (LMP) 2026, the Philippine Consulate General partnered with Radio Pinoy Calgary 94.7 FM with its host Juan Manila for a special OPM Sunday that brought together the timeless appeal of OPM Music and public service.
The program featured live performances by three talented Filipino-Canadian artists – KC, Zaab, and Allan Torres, who serenaded listeners with our beloved OPM classics. The performers showcased not only their talent and confidence but it also a reminder that Philippine music continues to inspire pride, preserve cultural identity, and bridge generations among Filipinos abroad.
The celebration coincided with the Consulate’s monthly Information Session on Radio Pinoy Calgary 94.7 FM. For the month of July, it was the Social Security System’s (SSS) turn to provide the community with important updates and guidance on their programs and services.
By combining cultural promotion with public service, the collaboration demonstrated the enduring power of music to unite communities while keeping our Kababayan informed. The Philippine Consulate General in Calgary remains committed to working with community partners in preserving Filipino heritage and strengthening engagement with Filipinos across Alberta and Saskatchewan.
