From Maple to Mangos: Philippine Foreign Service Posts in Canada Launch 2026 Canada “YOULEAD” Cultural Immersion Program

The Philippine Embassy in Ottawa and the Consulates General in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto, in partnership with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) are proud to announce the launch of the inaugural 2026 Canada Youth Leaders in the Diaspora (YouLeaD) program.

Tailored specifically for Filipino-Canadian youth, 2026 Canada YouLeaD Program is a premier cultural immersion experience designed to reconnect the next generation of the diaspora with their heritage, history, and the vibrant future of the Philippines.

Program Highlights: The 2026 iteration features a curated tour including:

Civic Engagement: Courtesy calls and networking with national and local government officials.

Heritage & Language: Interactive Filipino language workshops and museum tours in the historic town of Taal.

Culinary Arts: A gastronomy tour of Binondo and traditional cooking demonstrations.

Nature: Exploration of Taal Lake and engagement with local conservationists.

Key Details:

Program Dates: 11 – 17 August 2026 (Exclusive of travel time).

Eligibility: Youth with Filipino roots (Filipino, Canadian, or Dual Citizens), ages 19-25.

Estimated Cost to be shouldered by participants: 1,000 CAD (CFO program fee covering inland transport, accommodation, full board, and insurance) and international Airfare (Canada-Philippines-Canada) and other ancillary costs such as pocket money.

Application Deadline: 22 June 2026.
