22 June 2026 – Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 265, s. 2023, the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary observed Blue Monday in commemoration of the World / National Refugee Day.
Joined by Post’s consular applicants, Consul General Emma Sarne led the flag-raising ceremony, followed by the delivery of the President’s remarks. A video presentation showing the Philippines’ history of providing refugee and humanitarian assistance to displaced individuals was also played during the morning ceremony.
Post remains committed to providing guidance and information to our Kababayan on the Philippines’ open door policy to stateless persons, reflecting the Filipino values of hospitality, solidarity and malasakit sa kapwa. END
