04 March 2026 – The Philippine Consulate General in Calgary relaunched the Pop‑Up Market for WomenPreneurs (PUMP 2.0): #WEGiveToGain in Business in celebration of National Women’s Month. Building on last year’s success, the initiative continues to spotlight the contributions of women entrepreneurs in Calgary.
The opening day featured the Ice Skating Academy of Calgary, Kids Cove Dayhomes, Calgary Communities Against Sexual Abuse (CCASA) and the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS), who showcased their services and advocacies during the Consulate’s Citizenship oath‑taking session. Information materials were displayed at the #GivetoGain corner for public access. These materials will later be transitioned to the GAD corner by the end of March 2026. The Pop‑Up Market will run every Wednesday throughout March, including 21 March 2026, alongside the Consulate’s Saturday Consular Services, Legal Clinic and Information Session.
As part of the broader observance of National Women’s Month, the Philippines’ annual celebration has become an important platform for recognizing the achievements of women and responding to key issues on gender equality. Guided by the current theme, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society,” the Consulate’s activities lined up for March include #PurpleWednesdays, the All-Women National Anthem video during oath-taking and flag ceremonies, as well as expedited lanes for women for overseas voter registration and the SSS mobile outreach. A Sharing Circle on the Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child will also be conducted both in-person and via Facebook Live on 21 March 2026. This is pursuant to Proclamation 224 (s. 1988), 227 (s. 1988), Republic Act 6494 (s. 1990), Proclamation 759 (s. 1996) and 744 (s. 2004).
Through these initiatives, the Consulate reaffirms its commitment to supporting women in business, strengthening their leadership in the community, and advancing efforts toward a more gender-equal and inclusive society. END
