
08 January 2026 – The Philippine Consul General Emma R. Sarne joined the Filipino community in celebrating unity and cultural pride during the Council and Assembly of Filipino Foundations and Associations (CAFFA) Gala held on 03 January 2026, an event attended by Filipino community organizations from across Alberta under the umbrella of CAFFA.
The Gala was led by its President, Ms. Teofy Buluran, and showcased the strength and diversity of the Filipino community in Alberta. Various member organizations presented vibrant cultural and modern performances that highlighted the best of Filipino heritage and talent in the province.
In her remarks, Consul General Sarne highlighted that the event served as a meaningful platform for cultural expression, partnerships, and the strength in community collaboration among the Filipino organizations.
The event was also graced by several VIP guests, including Minister of Arts and Culture Tanya Fir, MLA Peter Singh, and Ward 13 City Councillor Dan Maclean demonstrating the support for the Filipino community and its contributions to Alberta’s multicultural landscape from the provincial and local level.
Post reaffirms its continued commitment to supporting Filipino community organizations and initiatives that promote cultural preservation, community development, and active participation in Alberta and Saskatchewan’s multicultural society. END
