02 December 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General (PCG) in Calgary welcomed its first batch of applicants for the Overseas Voting Registration Drive, marking an enthusiastic start to preparations for the National Elections in May 2028.
โThe overseas voting registration process is simple and straightforward and we want to make it as convenient as possible for our Kababayan,โ Consul General Emma Sarne said. The PCG Calgary Team is ready to assist every step of the way – from verifying requirements to completing their biometrics – so that more Filipinos in Alberta and Saskatchewan can register early and participate confidently in the coming elections.โ
With the 2028 National Elections set to be conducted through an online voting platform – similar to the recently concluded midterm elections in May 2025 – the Consulate encourages eligible Filipino citizens in Alberta and Saskatchewan to secure their right to vote ahead of the 30 September 2027 registration deadline. Upon commencement of the online voting period, only registered Filipino voters will receive an email with the official voting link.
Filipinos residing in Alberta and Saskatchewan who were unable to register for the previous election, or whose registration records have yet to be transferred to their current residence in Canada, are highly encouraged to visit the Consulate to register or update their voter information ahead of the registration deadline on 30 September 2027.
Interested applicants may proceed to the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary at Suite 100 1001 1st St. SE Calgary, Alberta Canada T2G 5G3 to register in person during regular business hours. PCG Calgary will also conduct field and mobile voter registration activities in 2026 and 2027 to reach more communities across its jurisdiction.
Post continues to encourage all eligible Filipinos to check the status of their voter records and ensure they are ready to participate in this vital democratic exercise. Overseas Filipinos play a meaningful role in choosing the next leaders of our country, and supporting their voter participation – which starts with their registration – remains a key priority of the Consulate.
