Philippine Independence Day Picnic
Post joined the annual Filipino community picnic organized by the Philippine Independence Committee of the Ottawa Valley(PICOV) on Sunday, 8 June 2025, at Larkin Park in Nepean, Ontario. Post hosted a special segment for children featuring games such as kadang-kadangsa bao, sipa, and tumbang preso.

Annual flag raising on Parliament Hill in Ottawa
The Embassy joined themembers of the Canada-Philippines Interparliamentary Friendship Group(CPIFG) in raising the Philippine flag at Parliament Hill on June 12, 2025. Theevent was hosted by Senator Flordeliz Osler and Members of theCanada-Philippines Interparliamentary Friendship Group. The event was cappedwith the traditional unfurling and folding of a giant Philippine flag.

127th Anniversary of Philippine Independence Day Diplomatic Reception
Post hosted a diplomatic reception, in cooperation with the Canada-Philippines Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, led by Senator Flordeliz Osler in the evening of 12 June 2025 at Parliament Hill. MP Rechie Valdez, Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Youth, and Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism, and first Canadian woman of Filipino descent to join Canada’s House of Commons, graced the event as the Guest of Honor.

Lighting of Canada’s Landmarks
On 12 June 2025, iconic landmarks from the capital (The Ottawa Sign) to the cities in the maritime provinces across Canada(The Confederation Building in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Province House in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Charlottetown’s City Hall, Prince Edward Island) were illuminated to commemorate the 127th anniversary of Philippine Independence and celebrate Filipino Heritage Month in Canada.

Ottawa Fiesta Extravaganza
The Embassy, represented by the undersigned,attended the first-ever Ottawa Fiesta Extravaganza held on 21-22 June 2025, atthe EY Centre. Organized by the Philippine International for Arts, Culture, andHeritage (PIACH), led by its CEO and founder Fil Caballes, the 2-day eventfeatured a lineup of cultural performances, live entertainment, Filipino cuisine, and community exhibits. Ottawa was the first stop among the 12 destinations of the Extravaganza in Canada.

Philippine Independence Day Gala
Post participated in the Philippine Independence Day Gala, held at the Ottawa Conference and Event Centre on 21 June 2025. Led by Philippine Independence Committee of the Ottawa Valley (PICOV) Chairperson, Ms. Nora Arriola, this annual event brought together the Filipino-Canadian community in Ottawa to commemorate the anniversary of Philippine Independence and Filipino Heritage Month in Canada.

Philippine Independence Day Thanks giving Mass and Reception
To cap the celebration of Philippine Independence and Filipino Heritage Month in Canada, Post’s personnel joined PICOV and other members of the Filipino-Canadian community for the Philippine Independence Day Thanksgiving Mass held on 29 June 2025 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish. The mass was followed by a reception and cultural performances at the Church’s recreation hall.
